Our team
Our team is led by Dave Worsfold and Matt Basi, who took over the management of London Capital Group in January 2023. Since then, we introduced our new client-first model, and built an experienced team around it.
Dave Worsfold
CEO
Dave brings more than three decades of financial markets experience, and is responsible for all Financial, Operational and Compliance matters at London Capital Group.
Prior to his current role, Dave was Head of Operations at CMC Markets, where he oversaw the Middle Office function in the build up to the company’s IPO in 2016.
He also worked across various operational roles in investment banking, and held a leadership position at a large hedge fund in Bermuda for a number of years.
Dave is married with three kids and is a keen rugby fan, having represented Bermuda at an international level during his time there.
Matt Basi
Managing Director
Matt is responsible for Front Office and Commercial matters at London Capital Group, and has been working in the City for more than 20 years.
His career started at Legal & General Investment Management in 2003, with a focus on reporting for UK pension funds. This was followed by five years at IG Group, servicing their most active equity trading clients, and then seven years as Head of Sales Trading and Head of Commercial for Europe and the Middle East at CMC Markets.
It was at CMC Markets where Matt met Dave, working closely together to deliver technological and service solutions to improve clients’ trading experience.
Away from the desk, Matt loves to travel with his wife and two kids, and is an avid horse racing fan.
Julija Krupicoic
Compliance Manager
Since the arrival of the new Directors in 2023, Julija has worked with the board to reposition London Capital Group’s Compliance approach to match the demands of the new business model. In addition to overseeing our Consumer Duty implementation, she’s responsible for monitoring and oversight.
Prior to life at London Capital Group, Julija worked in compliance roles over the course of a decade at Gain Capital and Vanguard.
Julija loves reading, travelling and sport, but devotes most of her spare time to her two young children and husband.
Dan Benton
Head of Sales & Client Services
Dan started his career 30 years ago in the metals broking industry, before making the jump to the Spread Betting and CFD sector, where he’s remained for the past two decades.
Before joining London Capital Group, Dan managed high value client books at IG Group, CMC Markets and ADSS. With a wide network of current and ex-market professionals, he maintains strong relationships with some of the industry’s most active clients.
Dan is married with three kids and is passionate about reading and football, which he both plays and coaches.
Ashraf Elgarf
Head of Dealing
Ash graduated from Loughborough university in 1998 with a Masters degree in Management Sciences and holds the CFA.
He started his career at IG Group, where he spent fifteen years in a variety of senior client-facing roles before joining ADSS, where he became Head of Dealing.
Ash joined London Capital Group in 2023, and is responsible for all client dealing matters, trade analytics and internal reporting.
Outside the office, Ash enjoys exploring London’s ever-changing restaurant scene with his wife, and trains five times a week at his local boxing gym.
Neil Adams
Sales Trader
Neil joined Standard Chartered’s FX dealing floor in 1997, where he spent five years covering institutional clients before moving into retail derivatives with MF Global.
This was followed by various trading roles with IG Group and CMC Markets, where he developed a large book of active clients in the UK and Ireland.
Now with us at London Capital Group, Neil provides relationship management and execution services to a diverse client book, with a particular focus on commodities and equities.
Neil’s married with three children, enjoys horse racing and collecting antiques. He’s an advocate for personal health and takes a keen interest in alternative diet and medicine.
Yusuf Heusen
Sales Trader
Yusuf provides relationship management and execution services to a diverse client book, with a particular focus on UK Equities.
He graduated as a Bachelor of Law in 1996 and spent five years broking small cap equities before joining IG Group as Client Manager. There, he spent 18 years managing relationships with some of the industry’s most valuable clients before moving to ADSS.
Yusuf is a passionate cook and enjoys the countryside, where he spends most of his weekends with his wife and their two children.
Richard Wiltshire
Trader
Richard joined London Capital Group in 2023 and provides multi-asset telephone execution services, as well as writing daily FX commentary and insights.
Richard started his career at NatWest Markets in 1987 where he spent 13 years trading treasury products for interbank clients. In 2000 he moved into the retail space at IG Group, where he went on to become Chief FX Dealer.
He later joined OvalX (formerly ETX Capital) where he spent 14 years in senior management roles on their multi-asset dealing desk.
Richard loves to travel with his wife, and is a passionate Arsenal fan — you can often find him at The Emirates with his two sons.
David Garbacz
Sales
David started his career in the sports bookmaking sector as one of the founders of Sporting Index. He later joined Victor Chandler where he was responsible for developing new products.
After a decade in sports betting, he moved into financial markets where he’s spent 17 years building a network of high value clients who he managed at both IG Group and CMC Markets.
Now at London Capital Group, David’s responsible for on-boarding experienced, active traders.
He and his wife have four children and an ever-growing collection of grandchildren. He is a regular at The Arsenal and maintains a keen interest in all things sports betting.
